Enjoy the Pontoon Blackjack Mix On Your Mobile
Blackjack is one of the world’s most popular card games, and it is played both in informal gatherings as well as the formal casino setting, be it land-based casinos, online casinos or mobile casino platforms.
Given its popularity, there have been dozens of blackjack variations that have sprung up over the years, all aimed at reviving this classic card game and offering casino players the best in entertainment and winning opportunities.
Some of the most popular blackjack variations include Perfect Pairs and Blackjack Switch, but Pontoon is another variation equally able to appeal to a wide range of players.
Playing Pontoon On the Go
Pontoon is widely available at various online and mobile casino platforms, and is well suited to players looking to enjoy blackjack while adding a little more glitz to it.
The game can be played using anything from two decks of cards to eight decks of cards. The card values are the same as in blackjack, where the number cards are worth their printed value, face cards are worth ten, and the aces are worth either one or eleven.
The best possible hand a player can have is called the ‘pontoon’. This consists of the ace and any of the cards valued at ten, which may be any of the face cards or the number ten card. Players can split their hands as well, so it is possible for them to land more than one ‘pontoon’ on a single hand.
The next highest hand is the five-card trick, which basically refers to any five-card hand that has not gone over the value of twenty-one.
After that, the hand values are ranked according to their point value. The higher the value, the better, as long as players do not exceed the value of twenty-one.
Beginning the Game
As soon as players begin the game, they will receive two cards facing up while the dealer will receive two cards facing down. If the dealer lands a pontoon the hand will end immediately. If not, the game will continue. Players can decide to hit to receive more cards and can only stand if they have collected at least five points or already have five cards.
Once players have completed their hands, the dealer will reveal his cards. The dealer will continue to draw more cards until he has at least seventeen points or five cards.
Once the dealer’s hand has been completed, the two hands will be compared to each other and the best hand will win. If the player wins, he will receive even money on his bet. However, if he lands a pontoon or a five-card trick, he will win a payout of two to one.
If a tie occurs, the player will automatically lose. A player must beat the dealer at the hand at all times in order to secure a win.
